After creating an Alert you will be brought to the Send Alert Screen.

  • Edit Button: Select this to make changes, if needed. You’ll be taken back to the Create Alert screen.
  • Send Alert Button: When the Alert is ready, click this button.

You must choose who to send the Alert to. An Alert can be sent to Everyone, One or more Groups, and One or more Topics.

The final step before sending the alert is the Verify User box. Enter in your password, and hit Send. The Alert is then transmitted to your app users.

You’re then taken to the Review Alerts Sent screen. You’ll see a verification Alert Sent message (blue bar). This confirms that the Alert was transmitted successfully. The Alert goes out to your app on the smartphone. Their device notifies them of a new Alert by using a Push Notification, if the user chose to allow push notifications during installation. Your newly created outgoing Alert is now displayed at the top of the list of other Alerts which you, or other dispatchers, have sent out.

Once a dispatcher sends an Alert, the people who receive that Alert may communicate back and provide information about the original Alert. When they communicate back to an Alert, their message will come in as a new incoming report.

Also, once you receive a message back from an Alert, you can then reply back to that specific person, to provide them with instructions or to ask for more information. For example, if you sent an Alert, and someone responded with feedback, you may reply to them to ask the user more questions (where is the person of interest now, what is he wearing, etc.).
